The short answer: the Contacts app on iPhone can’t print. You can share a contact as a card, but there is no Print option. To get your contacts on paper, use an app that prints them, a Mac, or screenshots.
Option 1: print a contact list with Print&Scan
Print&Scan reads your contacts on your iPhone and prints the ones you choose as a list, straight to your AirPrint printer.
- Open Print&Scan and choose Contacts.
- Allow access to your contacts when iOS asks.
- Pick the people you want on the list.
- Check the preview, set the copies and tap Print.
Your contacts are read on the phone only and are never uploaded. Printing contacts is part of Print&Scan Premium.
Option 2: print from a Mac
If your contacts sync with iCloud, they are also on your Mac.
- Open the Contacts app on the Mac.
- Select the contacts you want, or a whole list.
- Choose File › Print.
- Pick a style, such as a list, mailing labels or envelopes, then print.
This is the most flexible option if you have a Mac, especially for address labels.
Option 3: screenshots
For one or two contacts, open each contact, take a screenshot (press the side button and volume up together), then print the screenshots from Photos: Share › Print. It works, but the layout is the phone screen, not a list.
Why not just share the contact?
Sharing a contact sends it as a vCard file (.vcf). That is useful for moving contacts to another phone or app, but iPhone has nothing that turns a vCard into a printable page.
Your contacts and privacy
Whichever option you use, think about who sees the printout: a contact list holds other people’s phone numbers and addresses. Print&Scan only reads contacts after you allow access in iOS, and you can turn that off at any time in Settings › Print&Scan. See the Privacy Policy for details.
